Serena leads and directs the Honey Bees. She has been performing since she was 7 years old when she began her vocal training with the Australian Girls Choir. The choir gave her the opportunity to perform on many National and International tours across Australia, Hong Kong, England and Italy. A keen Music theatre performer, Serena began performing with the Adelaide Youth Theatre in 2011 as the Matron in their production of Aladdin. She has gone on to roles such as Tracy in Hairspray, Mrs Potts in Beauty and the Beast and as The Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods which was nominated for Best Musical (Youth Theatre) in the Adelaide Theatre Guide ‘Curtain Call’ Awards 2015/16. Serena has also performed roles for Matt Byrne Media, Heaps Good Productions, The Entertainment Store, including performing the role of Ben in the Australian touring production of Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom and for Emma Knights Productions, most recently as Ado Annie in the return season of Oklahoma: On a Farm!
Serena was also very privileged to be a part of the Australian Youth Performing Arts Team (AYPAT) in 2015, travelling to Hong Kong, England and France and performing in places such as Hong Kong and Euro Disneyland, and on the West End. Serena has performed corporate gigs with The Three Little Sisters, an Andrews Sisters tribute show, has also performed solo at Birdland Jazz Club on Broadway. In addition to performing Serena has directed and musically directed many performances for companies such as Promise Adelaide, the Adelaide Youth Theatre, the Australian Classical Youth Ballet and Spark of Inspiration.
Serena is currently studying a Bachelor of Teaching/Arts at the University of Adelaide and enjoys working as a singing teacher and tutor in her spare time.
