CHERIE SURMAN
Cherie began her singing career when she joined the Australian Girls Choir in 2007, she continued with the choir until 2013 when she began to perform in musical theatre. Cherie has performed roles for Gleeson College such as ‘Sandy’ in their most recent production of Grease. She has also performed in many cabaret shows for Gleeson College, both singing and playing the trumpet. Cherie has attended both Generations in Jazz and Balaklava Eisteddfod multiple times with her vocal ensemble and has won multiple awards for these performances. Cherie was chosen in 2017 to perform as a featured soloist at the Catholic Schools Music Festival at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. She also performed as the lead singer in her rock band ‘Avenue Chase’ up until 2016. Cherie completed her high schooling at the end of 2017 and is very excited to commence a Bachelor of Classical Voice at the Elder Conservatorium of Music in 2018.
